Medical Update

Mom has been battling a bad cough and cold this week and has also been vomiting off and on and feeling generally nauseated. She went in to the clinic a few days ago for a chest x-ray that showed a slight touch of pneumonia on her right side, but her white blood cell count was low so it is probably a virus. The doctor also did a liver panel and found that it has improved a little bit. Mom is still extremely tired and requires a lot of rest during the day. She has been very good about taking breaks when she needs them, but it is frustrating for her to always be so exhausted.

We are receiving meals to the house every other day, which has been a huge help. Thank you to all who have provided food for us! It’s one more thing that we don’t have to worry about with everything else going on.

The kids are all scheduling breaks. Jon, Carrie, Kieran, and Molly are going to visit family in Minneapolis this weekend and Kim will be flying back to New York City in the next few days for a week or so. Please keep mom in your thoughts and prayers (and give her extra rest) as we all go our separate ways. We hope that our absence will give mom the peace and quiet that she is accustomed to with an empty house.
