Brown Eyed Girl
Mom has had a good week. She has enjoyed reading on the deck in the sun, having Kim home from NYC, and having Ben home from Iowa City. We'll have a full house this weekend as Molly will be home too. Uncle Bryce, Aunt Sheryl and our cousin Elizabeth are visiting from Topeka, KS until Thursday. Mom is set for another round of chemo on Thursday morning.
Dad is busy practicing to sing at Kim's wedding reception. The tune set for the performance is "Brown Eyed Girl" with revised lyrics. He's also working on some special dance moves to go with his song as he currently only has two in his bag of tricks. We affectionately call them, "driving the tractor," and the "whack-a-mole." Keep your day job, Dad!

Maybe Tim could give a preview of his song and dance routine at the shower Saturday......and Kim would "think twice" about the plans at the reception. Anita...you are "the one" who has shown how determination, committment, trust and faith in God's plan can make life the best. Will be praying for strength for you today.

We continue to appreciate your updates and the pictures. Thanks for sharing so much of your personal lives with us. Dr. Tim, do you suppose you could teach Bo some of your moves? Anita, we pray that the Lord give you strength to enjoy your family, the wedding plans, and the lovely weather, and that He permit the chemo to have miraculous results. Thanks for being such a shining testimony of God's love and faithfulness. Blessings and love,
Barb

I have personally seen the dance, and I think it would be better named the "John Deere" and not "drive the tractor". We have loved being home with family during this time and wouldn't trade it for the world.

Tim,
I remember fondly Terry singing at Janele and John's wedding. No matter what your dance moves are or how you sing will be the important thing! What will be is the fact that you sang at your daughter's wedding!.

I remember Tim singing "take me out to the ballpark" several years in a row at the Storm Lake softball tournament over the PA. Molly's look from centerfield the first year was priceless. And when he didn't remember the words, he just "la.. la.. la.." until he did!!! Those were the good ole days.
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with your family!!!

Great job, Tim! In case you need some more dance moves for the wedding, we've included a URL... (copy and paste it into your internet web browser).

Anita - good to read that you're feeling better! We pray for you often.
Jeff and Kelly Capps
Ah, Jeff & Kelly have indeed given you a treasure trove of moves in the link to the Napoleon Dynamite dance, Uncle Tim! The following link will show you each dance move by name in slow motion: http://albinoblacksheep.com/flash/napoleon This link should aid you in the learning process so that you can not only increase your library of dance moves, but also ensure an even more exciting (if that is possible!) dance at Kim's reception.
How is Aunt Nita feeling today since chemo on Thursday?
Love, Elizabeth
PS: Does my entry count as #10, Carrie? If so, then you were SO right on the money in your prediction of 10 comments regarding TKD's dance moves. Just in case my entry doesn't count, I think we should have a few more people comment here. I'm sure I won't be the last. His antics just beg for comments. If only this blogspot could support a brief movie clip...
Carrie, I know for a fact your dad has one more move in his dance bag. He did the hand jive, Tim's way, at Shawna's wedding and was actually quite good. See if he remembers it! This wedding will be a lot of fun and we are so excited to be able to witness it and your dad's singing! Will it rival his singing at your wedding, Carrie? It was wonderful to visit with you the other day, Anita. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Nicki
P.S. Did it work when you told him I said you could get another outfit, Anita?
Aunt 'Nita - I pray daily for strength of body and spirit for you. Its been wonderful to be able to keep up with you (and the family antics!) online.
Uncle Tim - Please be sure to save a dance for your OTHER Brown Eyed Girl! :)
Can't WAIT to see y'all at the wedding!!
Love,
"Ellie-Belly"
I don't know about this Tim. It looks like all this singing and dancing might require a pastoral visit.

PS - It's always good to smile, glad to hear of the good times had with family. We are praying for you guys and for all the plans of this month. God's grace and peace be with you all.
A doctor we know from Storm Lake,
had a penchant for taking the cake,
by singing & dancing
at his children's weddings,
how much fun does he think we can
take?!?!?!?!?!?
